The voice of the Holy Spirit will lead, if we have accepted Jesus as our Savior. No greater joy is there than to follow His leading.
There have been times in all our lives when we have not listened. Usually it has led to trouble and then we were discouraged because things did not go our way. This then became one of the “Rivers of Life.” The guiding and nurturing we received during this time helped us help others. Do not ever think that just because someone is a Christian their whole life that things have always been smooth. In some cases God led us through past difficult experiences so we could help others in the future.
It would very hard to help others if you had not gone through a similar situation. Your experience may not be the same, but the experience you received gave you a good idea how to help others through difficult times.
Think of a white water river. You are floating along on the river and everything is so peaceful. Then you start to hit small rapids and you jump into action. You have times when you are in complete control and others when it takes the whole group to get you through. This is how our life is; no matter who you are you will experience
difficulties. You never know how much of a positive influence you can be to a person in need. People may more than anything need someone to talk to. They may only need to know that someone cares.
It does not matter if you are a baby Christian or someone who is older in their walk in the Lord. Get yourself up and be out there so you can help.
You can show your commitment and influence to others. Travel the “Rivers of Life” and show compassion and friendship to others.
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:2)
